About Our Candle Workshops
Our workshops are intentionally kept small and intimate, with a minimum of 5 people and a maximum of 10, allowing plenty of hands-on guidance and time for questions. Whether you’re completely new to candle making, simply curious about the process, or looking to host a bespoke workshop in the comfort of your own home with friends, our classes are designed to be informative, enjoyable, and confidence-boosting.
Thula & Bloom candle-making workshops take place either in your home or at our local community venue, St Faith’s in Maidstone, where you’ll be guided through the art and science of candle making in a relaxed and friendly setting.
During the workshop, we’ll cover:
The essential equipment needed for candle making
Different types of containers and how to choose the right one
The full process of making a container candle from scratch
Alternative waxes and wicks, and how they affect burn quality
How to test wicks correctly
Expected burn times and candle performance
Fragrance options and how to use them effectively
Each session lasts up to two hours, balancing practical making with useful insights and tips you can apply at home.
At the end of the workshop, you’ll take home the candle you’ve made, along with handy notes to help you recreate the process in your own time.

Workshops are £30 per person.
